In order to “put our money where our mouth is” we created the StoryHouse Foundation, into which we give 8% of our annual profits.  This foundation is focused on helping fund the stories that “can’t afford not to be told."

Sari Bari:  New Life in the Making

An example of such a project includes our work with Sari Bari, a business initiative, that seeks the freedom and restoration of Kolkata’s red-light areas through dignity-giving employment opportunities for women affected by the sex trade.

Each new product is made from Indian saris and is marked with a woman’s name.  Each item sold supports a woman who now has the opportunity to make a choice for freedom and a new life.  For more information, visit SariBari.com.

If you would like to submit a story for consideration in 2009, please share it with us by completing and submitting our online application.
